Sharesies independent concept
an independent concept for Sharesies · by assembl

two days of nothing, turned into $25.08.

When a Sharesies investor sells, the money takes two business days to reach their bank. Right now those 53 hours hold nothing — no question asked, nothing prepared, nothing offered.

assembl designs and runs agentic customer journeys. assembling is the wait-state layer: it turns a natural waiting moment into useful, permissioned, rewarded work that improves the customer's next step — while a named human stays in control.

the wait
53 hours from selling to settling
NZ and Australian trades settle two business days after they fill. A published clock, so the wait is designable.1
what happens in it
a second clock, that she can't see
Her KiwiSaver year closes 30 June and she is behind. Every dollar in before then earns 25c from the government, to a $260.72 cap. The agent works out the shortfall and offers her the choice.3
who stays in control
her, and the Investment Director
Nothing moves without her tap. And the agent stops before it can recommend — that is regulated advice, and it needs a licence.5

the best thing it does is stop

reads · with consent
  • this sale and its settlement date
  • her wallet and currency
  • her KiwiSaver contributions this year
  • the auto-invest plan she wrote herself
may do · unattended
  • work out the shortfall to 30 June, in dollars
  • draft a redirect for her to tap
  • state drift from her own plan, without judging it
  • write every step to the evidence pack
hard stop · never
  • move her money
  • change her fund or risk setting
  • tell her what to buy — regulated financial advice, which needs a Financial Advice Provider licence5

the named human

the Investment Director

Signs off in advance what the agent may say, and reviews anything that edges toward advice for one particular person.

A role, with a name on the evidence pack. Not "a human in the loop".

every clock here is published

Which is what makes the wait designable. There is no invented number on this page — the figures are either cited below or labelled illustrative where they belong to the worked example.

T+2 / T+1

NZ and Australian trades settle two business days after they fill; US trades one. That is the wait, and it has a hard published edge.

8:30am → 10am

Orders can only go to market between 8:30am and 4:45pm on trading days, and nothing fills until the market opens at 10am.

$260.72

The maximum government contribution for the year from 1 July 2025, at 25 cents per dollar contributed — reached at $1,042.86. The year runs 1 July to 30 June, and it does not carry over.

a licence

Anyone giving regulated financial advice to retail clients must hold or operate under a Financial Advice Provider licence. That is why the journey stops where it does.

what we would expect to move

a hypothesis, with its mechanism

No percentage here, because we do not have one. A concept that invents a number is worth less than one that names what to measure.

primary · the match claimed

More members reach the full government contribution before 30 June.

The mechanism: the shortfall is stated in dollars at a moment money is already moving, instead of in a June email that competes with everything else. Measure it as the share of members who reach $1,042.86, against the prior year, split by whether the prompt was seen.

secondary · fewer status contacts

"Where is my money" stops being a support ticket.

The mechanism: the settlement date, the reason for it, and what is happening in between are all on one screen. Measure it as contacts about order and settlement status per thousand trades.
